Long Description :
Engineer I
Basic Function :
Provide geotechnical recommendation and/or services to the PTFI U/G Mines by directing the design, support and monitoring of geotechnical aspects of U/G Mine facilities and operations to ensure safe and efficient operation of U/G Mines.
The key challenges in this position include:
° Facilitate several parties that have different needs, concern and priority.
° Communicate with several parties who have different background (education, level, etc.).
° Discover the most effective way in influencing or convincing others to follow and implement the recommendation.

° Provide geotechnical support to a 40,000 TPD block caving mine in operation 7 a 50,000 TPD block caving ming in development.
° Lead 3 (three) subordinates as Non-Staff technicians.
Requirements
The background, education, and work experience needed to succeed in this job are:
Minimum Education and Experience
° Graduate in Geological, Mining or Civil Engineering with 3 years of experience.
Core Competencies (Knowledge, Skills & Characters)
° Have knowledge of basic theory of rock mechanics and geotechnical engineering from university course work.
° Be able to communicate with field people, lead subordinates, develop or train subordinates and must be energetic & willing to work in the field.
