When the recruitment ad hit the Internet at large, people had a lot to say questioning both what the actual take-home would turn out to be and who would value their life for that sum.
One netizen made the comment “this is black.” It’s a reasonable concern given the whole inflated-salary-for-Fukushima-work trick has been pulled before.
Also when searching for Ōsentekku online there was little to be found about the employer outside of this job posting. Perhaps this is a hoax hinted by the vague katakana pronunciation of “Authentic.”
There Japanese company called AuthenTEC was found but they seem to be a machine manufacturer unrelated to goings on at the Fukushima reactor.
Either way, if you happen to be in need of cash and have nothing to lose, it couldn’t hurt to apply. It just hurts a lot to get hired.
