Supt., System Data Development & QA/QC
Basic Function :
Develop, analyze, evaluate, and implement methods and procedures regarding geologic operation and database sytem within assigned area, in order to ensure validity and reliability of geologic data and operation method, and transfer of geologic operation knowledge to develop skill and competency of Geologic Operation's Staff to meet Internasional Standard Industry and its complience with the wide MIS corporate system.
Job Responsibility :
1. Coordinate Geologic Quality Assurance people to ensure integration of procedures with all other G&TS divisions.
2. Develop and maintain practical procedural manuals for geologic data collection, recording, compilation and reporting for the area assigned, to provide clear direction to the Geologic Services Group in the production of consistent, usable geologic information.
3. Manage and monitor field procedures and collect information on problems encountered in the field and with the use or results of data collection and interpretation.
4. Evaluate regular field, data entry and database implementation to ensure procedures are being followed and to identify/correct procedural problems.
5. Train data collectors and compilers in the procedures to
ensure reliable data collection, recording, compilation and reporting.
6. Evaluate the need and enhance the databases system to meet the current request.
7. Provide timely information to keep management informed of progress, problems, and proposed solutions on a regular basis.
8. Keep up to date with industry standard practice of geologic quality through study of techniques to ensure that best practice is available.
9. Understand and be aware of safety and environmental
practices in the work area ensuring safe work practices for you and working colleagues and compliance with company Safety and Environmental SOPs.
10. Respond to ad hoc special projects (typically resulting
from business or operational unplanned events).
The key challenges in this position include:
° Ability to maintain consistency in the geologic information process: Making sure that the geologic information collected and compiled is completed in a consistent manner at all locations and at all times and that, the information gathered is appropriate for the many
and various groups within and outside the G&TS and company.
° Ability to set up database systems and procedures that will allow often-qualitative geologic data to be computerized without losing the integrity of the
information. This is a major challenge of the job and a deep understanding of computer database systems and their use in geology as well as the products of geologic computing is essential to the development of workable procedures.
° Ability to impart to data collection and compilation jobs the importance of following procedures and integrating the practically of procedures into the production goals of each operation. This requires substantial influencing and often negotiating skills and the patience to return to rewrite
procedures that may not be practical in the field situation based on input and feedback.
The key areas in which you have decision-making responsibility are:
° Develop procedures that integrate the operations of collection, compilation, recording, and reporting of geologic information.
° Decide when geologic information products are considered complete and ready for publication.
° Decide when quality-checking products of G&TS decide on
corrections, improvements or updates as appropriate.
° Provide direct input into the G&TS program planning designs.

° Responsible in cooperation with MIS for the software provider contracts for new purchasing and maintenance; annual cost is more than 250,000 USD.
° Manage contract programming specialists; annual cost is
more than 150,000 USD.
Non-Financial
° Number of direct subordinate: 3 Staff.
° Number of indirect subordinate: 4 Non-Staff.
° Provide direction and training in procedures Division wide.
° Interdivisional technology transfer.
Requirements
